A charming antique French faience Quimper pie crust footed plate or dish, circa 1895. Maker's mark on front and reverse. This lovely dish features a finely detailed hand painted Breton couple in traditional costume dancing. The sweet couple is surrounded by pink heather and ajonc flower sprays, an orange and green tassel border, and a blue and green ruffled rim resembling a pie crust accented by fluttering butterflies. A rare find! It displays beautifully and would be wonderful added to a collection.
