19th Century English Sterling Silver Equestrian Horseshoe Vesta Case Match Box
A superb antique 19th Century English sterling silver equestrian horseshoe vesta case match box and striker. Hallmarked, Birmingham, England 1887. Acquired from a collector's estate in England. The front is finely crafted in the form of a horseshoe, the reverse has a beautifully worked monogram, and the inner compartment holds the matches, which can be struck on the top internal ribbed plate. A rare collector's piece and would also make a wonderful gift for the equine enthusiast.
